On Tuesday, July 13, Trey followed up on last week's episode of going after the heart of the child. He quoted CCC 1776 and discussed how parents are to do all they can for their children in order to help them have a properly formed conscience. On Tuesday, June 22, Trey talked about the importance of the Eucharist, and teaching your children about it as early as possible. Can young children truly understand what the Eucharist is and fully believe in its reality? Well, can you as an adult believe the same things? Or do even you have difficulty sometimes fully grasping the concept? We believe it’s probably the latter, so you can never start teaching your kids too early about the source and summit of our Faith! He also touched on helping your kids learn and understand the importance of all of the Sacraments, as well as why we do what we do as Catholics, such as genuflecting. On Tuesday, June 15, Trey discussed how athletics and sports can play a huge role in a child's life, teaching them many lessons, including lessons in the Faith and cause growth in spirituality. He quoted 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 which talks about running a race and only one runner gets a prize. He also pulled some things from the "Cashi-chism", and used his son's experience and attitude as a beautiful example of humility! Remember, only God can take the mystery out of parenthood. On Tuesday, June 8, Stephanie was back with Trey to talk about how downtime can still be an opportunity to grow in holiness. You can't fill your children's tanks if yours is empty! They discussed the importance of doing things to replenish yourself, whether that's exercise, quiet time, reading, getting dressed up, etc. - Whatever helps you to unwind and gather your thoughts when necessary. On Tuesday, May 25, Trey talked about God's love for us, and His desire to love Him in return of our own will, without being forced by Him, which would not be love at all. He compared it to the family and parenting our children. Parents can teach children Truth, show them the way and raise them up in the Faith, but they ultimately cannot make them remain in the Faith.
