On Tuesday, May 4, Trey talked about offering ourselves fully to Christ, especially in the Mass. If we unite our lives to Him in every area, nothing we go through is an empty event; it has purpose when we unite it to Christ and His suffering. He also discussed the ordinary life that Jesus lived, the years of his life that are undocumented, and the significance of our "ordinary" lives in relation to Jesus. It's in doing the ordinary things of every day life that we can live holy lives, unite ourselves to Christ, and become saints! Everything Christ did in his life has value, including his ordinary work. That's something that we can relate to on our human level. On Tuesday, February 23, Trey broke down the Mass, talking about the 3 main parts of it: 1) the meal, 2) the Presence, and 3) the sacrifice. Meals are usually intended to be a gathering place where we not only eat, but share our thoughts, lives, etc., which is like the Mass; we gather with others as the Body of Christ and bring everything to God. Secondly, when we receive communion, we are united to Jesus in a beautiful way through His Presence in the Eucharist, and Trey talked about the importance of teaching the True Presence to your children. Lastly, Trey discussed the importance of the sacrifice of the Mass, and how we are called to make daily sacrifices in our lives to show our love for Jesus and others. Trey challenged listeners to carry each of these aspects of the Mass into our daily lives, so that we are constantly tying ourselves back to Jesus in the Mass - beautiful!
